What is EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a type of therapy used to treat symptoms of trauma, as well as anxiety disorders, depression, addictions, grief, and many others.

EMDR is information processing therapy that incorporates elements from many different treatment approaches, utilizing the natural healing ability of your body.

It is used for individuals who have experienced severe trauma that remain unresolved. When a traumatic or distressing experience occurs, it may overwhelm normal thought processing and coping mechanisms. EMDR helps to process distressing memories, reducing their negative effects and allow to develop better coping mechanisms and put the trauma in the past.

EMDR is a recommended therapy type treatment by National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines for anxiety disorders, depression and many other metal health problems.
